Easter is just around the corner, and what better way to spread joy and happiness than with handmade Easter cards made with love? Dive into the world of creativity with the Excellent Eggs Bundle and discover endless possibilities for creating unique cards this season.  From choosing the perfect cardstock to adding sparkle and shine with embellishments, this blog post has you covered.  I’ve also included the step by step PDF file in this post and you will find it under the shopping list.  But, before you download and print that lets’ take a closer look at this card.

How do you determine your color palette when you create your cards?  For me I wanted soft Spring  colors and the Lemon Lolly, Pool Party, and Bubble Bath colors came to mind.  I decide to die cut my Easter Eggs using these 3 colors together and mix and match the color pieces.

Now, let’s take a look at the background on this card.  I wanted to add a bit of texture and the look of maybe an egg basket, so I decided to go with the Cane Weaved 3D Embossing Folder.   One way to add a touch of elegance and dimension to your cards is by incorporating embossing techniques. Embossing allows you to create raised designs or patterns on your cardstock, adding visual interest and a tactile element to your Easter cards.   With this deep impression embossing folder I think I achieved my desired look that I was going for.

You might be asking where did those little pink egg looking gems come from?  They were the perfect accessory to add to this fun Easter card; wouldn’t you say?  They are from the Opaque Ovals pack.  This pack comes with Pecan Pie, Lemon Lolly, Bubble Bath and Azure Afternoon.  I couldn’t’ decide between the Lemon Lolly or Bubble Bath; but I accented the outside of the embossed piece with the Lemon Lolly so decided to go with the Bubble Bath.

To even out all the colors I decided I wanted to go with a more neutral card base and not white or vanilla; so I went with Smoky Slate.  I think this neutral gray goes well with all 3 of the soft Easter egg colors.  So to tie in the Smoky Slate with the rest of the card I used the Smoky Slate ink pad to stamp my sentiment onto the banner die cut.  If you haven’t already noticed the Stylish Shapes dies are my hands down go to die set for these banners as well as the circles and squares in the set.

My Customer Appreciation for March:

stamping special ribbon holders

My 3D printer has been buzzing getting ready for this months customer appreciation special.  Do you have a spot or a way of storing your ribbon and twine spools?  If not check out this combo ribbon/twine storage system.  My combo ribbon and twine holder will hold up to 7 spools of ribbon depending on the size of the spool and 4 spools of twine or thread.  This is perfect to sit on your desk and keep your spools in order and upright or place on a shelf.

Do you have the White Open Storage Cube from Stampin’ Up! with the Topper Storage?  If not you can check it out on page 124 of the annual catalog.  This is a cube that you can store ink pads, ribbon, adhesives, small embellishments and more.  I’ve taken my ribbon storage system and made them to fit inside the cube and with the topper storage you have the space on top to hold my ribbon storage system as well. (check out what I’m talking about in the photo below.). Yes the bottom ribbon storage system has the twine/thread spool holder inside; you will just need to slide it out of the cube to get at the spools when needed.
