One of my favorite things about this week’s sketch is how adaptable it is. By simply changing the Designer Series Paper, sentiment, and focal image, you can create cards for virtually any occasion. Today I’m sharing five different card ideas using the same sketch to show just how versatile this design can be.

Card Sketches from the stamp camp

August Customer Thank You Card Kit

The first card features the beautiful Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper and is the card kit that will be mailed to customers who placed an order with me during August.

This stunning black-and-white paper is incredibly versatile and can be customized for any occasion. For my sample, I hand-cut a bouquet of tulips directly from the Designer Series Paper and colored the image using Pool Party, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. If you prefer a more classic look, the bouquet can be left black and white with the pop of Real Red cardstock creating a striking accent.

The sentiment was created using Sweetly Sentimental Hot Foil Dies with gold foil on Basic Black cardstock, then accented with gold adhesive-backed gems for a touch of elegance.

Each customer kit may vary slightly. The sentiment and hand-cut floral bouquet included could be different from the sample shown, but every design from this paper collection is equally beautiful. The kit includes the hand-cut floral image, gold foiled sentiment, and gold embellishments so recipients can assemble the card exactly as shown or personalize it to fit their style.

Card Layers:

  • Basic White Thick Cardstock card base
  • Basic Black layer
  • Real Red layer
  • Three strips of Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper
  • Basic Black focal layer
  • Basic White panel
  • Hand-cut floral bouquet
  • Gold foiled sentiment and embellishments

To finish the inside, I simply added another strip of Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper for a coordinated look.

Sneak Peek from the New September–December Catalog

Card number two gives you an exciting preview of products coming in the new September–December Catalog.

This card features the Painted Patch Designer Series Paper paired with the Painted Pumpkin Bundle. The warm fall colors make this card perfect for autumn greetings and Thanksgiving cards.

Card Layers:

  • Very Vanilla card base
  • Secret Sea layer
  • Golden Glow layer
  • Three strips of Painted Patch Designer Series Paper

I used the coordinating dies to cut pumpkins directly from the Designer Series Paper and arranged them on the card front. The sentiment and die-cut elements come from the Painted Pumpkin Bundle.

Inside I added additional pumpkins along with a coordinating sentiment stamped in Secret Sea ink.

This card is a great example of how Designer Series Paper can do most of the work for you when creating focal images.

A Frightfully Fun Halloween Card

For card number three, I transformed the sketch into a fun Halloween card using Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper.

The adorable kitty wearing a witch hat was die cut using the Oh My Fright Bundle, which also provided the “Boo to You” sentiment featured on the card front.

The three patterned paper strips create a playful backdrop while allowing the focal image to take center stage.

On the inside, I added another hand-cut kitten from the Designer Series Paper along with a coordinating strip of paper to tie everything together.

This design proves that the same card sketch can easily transition from elegant florals to whimsical Halloween fun.

Silly Old Bear Card Using a Single Pattern

Card number four showcases how you can use just one pattern of Designer Series Paper and still achieve a beautiful result.

For this version, I used the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper and cut all three sketch panels from the same print. This creates a cohesive look while still maintaining the visual interest of the sketch design.

The Pooh Bear focal image was die cut directly from the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper using the coordinating Sweet Words & Labels bundle. I stamped the “Oh Bother” sentiment on Very Vanilla cardstock and hand cut around it before popping it up on the balloon.

A few retired gold bee embellishments provided the perfect finishing touch.

Inside the card, I added a hand-cut image of Pooh Bear and Piglet along with a coordinating sentiment.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you need multiple patterns to make a sketch work, this card proves that one beautiful print can be all you need.

Elegant Card with Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper

My final card features the gorgeous Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper.

For this version, I selected three coordinating patterns for the sketch panels and then hand cut a violet floral bouquet directly from the paper for the focal point.

Instead of using a white center panel, I covered the focal layer with another piece of Designer Series Paper, allowing the floral image to blend seamlessly into the design. A few coordinating adhesive-backed blooms completed the card beautifully.

The inside features an additional strip of Designer Series Paper, creating a polished and professional finish.
