If you’re always looking for free card sketches, today’s layout is one you’ll want to save! Card Sketch #67 is a versatile design that works beautifully with scenic papers, seasonal papers, florals, and just about any patterned paper in your stash. The best part? This layout allows you to showcase larger portions of your favorite Designer Series Paper while still creating a clean and professional-looking handmade card.

If you love printable card sketches, printable card sketches to download, and creative ideas for using your Designer Series Paper, then today’s collection of cards is sure to inspire you.

Card Sketch #67 – A Layout That Showcases Your Designer Series Paper

This week’s free card sketches features three vertical panels across the card front. The spacing between the panels allows a coordinating cardstock layer to peek through, adding interest while still preserving the overall design of the paper. It’s a simple layout, but one that creates stunning results with very little effort.

As I worked with this sketch, I kept finding more and more Designer Series Papers that would work perfectly with it. Before long, I had created five different cards! That’s when I knew this sketch was a winner.

Card #1 – Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper

For my first card, I used the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper (on sales now) along with the Phrases and Frames stamp set.

The scenic print became the focal point of the card. I started with an Early Espresso card base, added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, and then attached the three sections of the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper. The slight spacing between the strips allows the Very Vanilla cardstock to show through while still maintaining the full scenic image.

To finish the card, I added the Happy Anniversary sentiment from the Phrases and Frames stamp set and popped it up with dimensionals. A few sequins provided the perfect finishing touch.

For the inside, you could hand-cut one of the floral images from the paper, add a coordinating strip of Designer Series Paper, or stamp an image that complements the beautiful scenery featured on the front.

Card #2 – Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper

My second card features the Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper.

Once again, I selected one of the scenic prints and divided it into three sections. The paper was mounted onto Basic Black cardstock and then layered onto a Very Vanilla card base.

The Happy Halloween sentiment was stamped directly onto the Designer Series Paper, allowing the beautiful scene to remain the star of the card. I finished the front with three adorable bats from the Bats, Ghosts, and Dots embellishments.

To coordinate everything, I added a strip of matching Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card and covered the envelope flap with another piece from the Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper pack.

Card #3 – Spooktacular Designer Series Paper

For card number three, I used the Spooktacular Designer Series Paper and the Oh My Fright stamp set.

This time, little Frankie became the focal point. I cut the Frankenstein image into three sections and mounted the pieces onto Basic Black cardstock before attaching everything to a Granny Apple Green card base.

The Happy Halloween greeting from the Oh My Fright stamp set was added directly to Frankie, and I accented the card with dots from the Bats, Ghosts, and Dots embellishments.

This card proves that card sketches aren’t just for florals and scenic papers—they work wonderfully with fun character-themed papers too.

Card #4 – Painted Patch Designer Series Paper

Card number four gives you a sneak peek at something coming in the upcoming September–December Catalog.

For this card, I used the new Painted Patch Designer Series Paper along with the coordinating Painted Pumpkins Bundle.

Three different patterns from the Painted Patch Designer Series Paper were cut according to the sketch and mounted onto Cajun Craze cardstock before being attached to a Golden Glow card base.

Using the coordinating dies from the Painted Pumpkins Bundle, I die-cut pumpkins directly from the Designer Series Paper and layered them onto the card front. The coordinating embellishments from the suite added just the right amount of sparkle.

For the inside, I added another strip of Designer Series Paper, and of course, I finished the project by covering the envelope flap with matching paper to create a coordinated card set.

Card #5 – Painted Patch Designer Series Paper Fun Fold

I couldn’t stop with just one Painted Patch card!

For this version, I used the gate and fence die from the Painted Pumpkins Bundle across the center of the card front.

When the gate opens, you’ll find the sentiment “Hello Gourd-geous” along with a pumpkin popped up inside. Open the card completely and you’ll discover additional pumpkins die-cut from the Painted Patch Designer Series Paper layered onto a Very Vanilla panel along with an inside sentiment from the Painted Pumpkins stamp set.

Just like the previous card, I coordinated the envelope flap with matching Designer Series Paper to tie the entire project together beautifully.
