Let’s Create Mini Book Binding Fun Fold Cards For Kids

Easter cards or Birthday cards all fun fold cards

Today’s mini book binding fun fold cards are perfect little notecards for kids or even for someone you just want to give a little message too. These cards are full size card bases with a little mini booking binding card on top.  Everything is cuter mini wouldn’t you agree, so why not a card as well.  I couldn’t stop at just one I had to try my hand at a couple of different ones.  These cards can be created with all designer series paper and just a sentiment or you can create a scene like I did for my little bunny friend.

Let’s take a closer look and you determine which type suits your stamping needs.  Are you an all designer series paper person or mix it up.

Let’s start with the Hot Air Balloon bundle.  I’ve been creating with this bundle for a bit and I just love those pastel colors in the paper.  I also love a good designer series paper that I do not have to do much with.   The prints in this paper pack give me the look I’m going for with minimal work or stamping.  All I did was stamp and die cut out the Wish Big and popped it up on the Hot Air Balloon.

Like I said in the beginning these cards have the regular A2 card base 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ and the mini book binding card is placed on top.  To create these mini book binding fun fold cards you will cut your cardstock 3 1/4″ X 8 1/2″ score at 4 1/4″ and 3 1/2″.

See this is the inside with just a little spot for you to write or stamp a simple little message.  It still fits inside a regular envelope and is easy enough to mail, but it works perfectly for slipping inside a gift bag or on top of a present for a birthday party.

Easter cards fun fold cards

I couldn’t stop at my balloon card with Easter just around the corner, so I pulled out my Easter Bunny stamp set; which by the way is on the Retired List.   If you missed my newsletter with the retiring list for the mini and annual catalog I’ll post it for you below the shopping list for today’s cards.

Let’s start on the background piece of designer series paper.  My card base is the thick basic white and the balmy blue piece on top is from the retiring Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper pack.

For my little bunny and the grass stamp I used the Easter Bunny stamp set and used my blending brushes to color in around him.   I created a mask with a sticky note; you stamp your image onto the sticky note and hand cut around it; place the sticky note over the top of your stamped image and sponge around it.  Remove the sticky note and you have your little rabbit sitting in the grass.  I stamped the carrot onto a scrap piece of basic white cardstock and hand cut it out and then popped it up.  Those little “Easter Eggs” are from the retiring Opaque Ovals pack.  I thought they made great little easter eggs.

The perfect little Fun Fold Card to stick inside those Easter baskets this year.

My Customer Appreciation for March:

stamping special ribbon holders

My 3D printer has been buzzing getting ready for this months customer appreciation special.  Do you have a spot or a way of storing your ribbon and twine spools?  If not check out this combo ribbon/twine storage system.  My combo ribbon and twine holder will hold up to 7 spools of ribbon depending on the size of the spool and 4 spools of twine or thread.  This is perfect to sit on your desk and keep your spools in order and upright or place on a shelf.

Do you have the White Open Storage Cube from Stampin’ Up! with the Topper Storage?  If not you can check it out on page 124 of the annual catalog.  This is a cube that you can store ink pads, ribbon, adhesives, small embellishments and more.  I’ve taken my ribbon storage system and made them to fit inside the cube and with the topper storage you have the space on top to hold my ribbon storage system as well. (check out what I’m talking about in the photo below.). Yes the bottom ribbon storage system has the twine/thread spool holder inside; you will just need to slide it out of the cube to get at the spools when needed.
